At Rational Therapeutics, we believe every cancer and every cancer patient is unique. With our EVA-PCD™ (Ex-Vivo Analysis-Programmed Cell Death) analysis, we are able to "functionally profile" your tumor by determining how it responds when exposed to varying chemotherapeutic drugs and combinations. This identifies the therapies that will work most effectively for you, and can also eliminate drugs that have a low likelihood of working, saving valuable time in the treatment process.

Our EVA-PCD™ assay empowers patients to make informed and timely decisions to fight their specific cancer. The EVA-PCD™ assay is essential for:

  • patients without the luxury of time for trial and error;
  • patients who are unwilling to become a statistic for a standard of care based on probability of success;
  • patients who challenge the medical community to provide personalized treatment specific to an individual’s cancer.

EVA-PCD™ assay, by examining small clusters of cancer cells [microspheroids] in their native state, provides a real-time snapshot of the response of tumor cells to drugs, combinations and targeted therapies. Despite the appeal of gene and protein based methods, these techniques cannot measure the complex behavior of cancer cells in response to injury. Functional Profiling is the only approach that can answer these complex questions.

The medical community recognizes that cancer patients respond differently to chemotherapy. Despite this, doctors have continued to administer drugs according to rigidly standardized treatment regimens for more than four decades. Not surprisingly, cancer survival has not significantly changed during this time.
