Most cancer treatments are based upon existing protocols. A protocol is established through testing usually carried out at academic medical centers. Private physicians typically follow the same standard of care. Unfortunately “standards” of care do not necessarily mean that the cancer growing in your body will respond to the routine protocol.

At Rational Therapeutics we take a specimen of your tumor and test it in our laboratory to see which chemotherapy drug or combinations of drugs actually kill your tumor cells. This is called functional profiling. The results of the test (or assay) allows us to see which drugs work and which do not.

Your physician may have doubts about the effectiveness of our testing. Our website has the technical information to help address all those concerns.
